Alan was our photographer for our special day in September at maryculter house and he instantly felt like part of the bridal party! Amazing quality and professionalism Alan Finding it hard to put into words how to thank Alan and to describe just how good our experience was! We found Alan via hitched and we are so glad we did!! The process from start to finish has been amazing. Alan sent us information, quotes etc. When we decided to book with him he made a point of being available to meet with us when we were in Aberdeen. (Aberdeen is 200 miles away from where we live) he showed us some of his work in print and available photo albums. Alan talked to us about how the day could go, the process of the photography throughout the day and includes us in all the decision making throughout this. He had a plan A,B & C for everything when it came to our photos (weather permitting) which was really reassuring. Our wedding photos were at Dunnottar castle and Alan went ahead and contacted them on behalf of us, keeping us updated throughout the whole wedding planning experience. When it came to the big day Alan was very discreet and calm working away in the background and has a fantastic kind manner putting everyone at ease to achieve the best photos possible! Had a pre wedding shoot which was fantastic and then on the day Alan was very friendly and helpful and put us at ease. All our photos are absolutely fantastic we couldn’t be happier with them!

We can’t recommend Alan highly enough! We got to know Alan during our pre-wedding photoshoot at Johnston Gardens in October, where we were very impressed by his easy-going style and his photos made us look great! On the day of our wedding in late December, Alan was with us all day, taking photos of us getting ready (he even helped with ties and shoelaces!), taking some fantastic candid photos of our guests and some wonderful shots of everyone in the evening . Being December, it was very cold so Alan’s efficiency in getting all the outdoor formal shots was greatly appreciated by us and our guests so we could all get back inside to the Thainstone fireplaces! Alan has a very unobtrusive style, which meant most of our guests were unaware of his presence during the day, allowing him to give us some incredible candid shots of our friends and family. And I must admit, some of these are among my favourites from the day . Thankyou Alan for documenting our day so completely and giving us such wonderful memories to look back on in years to come. Exceptional work in unconventional situation. Alan was a fantastic photographer for our wedding. We had a slightly unusual wedding ceremony, since my husband and I were living in Japan and had travelled to Scotland just to get married. Despite the long distance and time difference, Alan was exceptionally professional in assisting us with our wedding. He often times went beyond our expectations with helping us plan from abroad. In addition, I would highly recommend him based on his friendly attitude alone, which greatly aided my photo-shy family in feeling comfortable in front of the cameras.

Thanks to Alan we have special memories of our wedding day to look back on throughout the years from the stunning pictures he has captured. Alan is very friendly, mixed with our guests made everyone feel at ease which made the photos a very enjoyable experience. For our wedding, we decided to give Alan a call based on his stunning photos from his gallery and we wanted something similar. He was very friendly, very professional and took us through the various options available to us to capture our perfect day. On the day of the wedding, he was doing his thing very professionally and not getting in the way. We got some stunning photos as he had secret access to a building local to our venue that provided stunning backdrops for our photos. They were truly incredible. Alan was most definitely worth the investment and I would recommend him to anyone. We got a flash drive with all the photos and he made us a beautiful photo album, one with the photos actually formed the pages themselves, not just photos stuck onto a book page. Very professional, excellent photographer and a great guy. What more could you want? easily earned the 5 star rating and helped us remember the moments from our special day with stunning photography.

Highly recommend Alan!! For the very first time chatting with Alan via video call due to covid, we just knew he was the perfect wedding photographer for us! We booked very early on - over 2 years prior to the wedding. We eventually got to meet Alan where he done a mini Christmas photo shoot, showed us wedding albums/photos he already done. We then had our pre wedding shoots which were just perfect! Alan was so friendly, polite, professional and very chatty. He always made us feel relaxed as it can be very nervous getting photos done. Alan was quick to show us our pre wedding album aswell as our wedding album. He sticks to the time lines he mentions and is always contactable, never had issues with contact Alan. On the wedding day we couldn't ask for better support. He knew exactly the plans, and helped to keep everyone calm bringing out the most natural shots. He spent his time between the bridal party and grooms party, which was amazing for my husband to have lots of getting ready photos to. I will always recommend and if in the future we need a photographer we will always remember Alan!

Allan was a very relaxed and easy photographer to be around. His aim was to capture natural photographs of our day and as such didn’t force anyone to pose in any particular way for photographs just taking advantage of the atmosphere and surroundings. Very likeable guy, easy to get along with. Even at short notice he arranged a pre-wedding shoot to get to know us before the day. Highly recommended.

We have used Alan for 3 photoshoots now and can honestly not recommend him highly enough. He is so down to earth and makes you feel at complete ease whilst being nothing but professional. He goes above and beyond his role of photographer as he is so accommodating and has truly captured the absolute best bits of 3 very important events in our lives. We absolutely couldn't recommend Alan enough! He was great at communicating and even showed that he was excited for our wedding day which made us feel quite lucky to have someone truly invested in our big day! 🎃 On the day he was incredibly helpful from keeping an eye on the time, organising people where they need to be, helping us get ready, taking photos preparation and guests ariving and also, have a good chin wag with us. Our photos have come out beautifully and they feel really natural for us, lots of smiley faces and creative ideas. He has a lovely eye for detail and created some lovely photos of our decor, vow books and rings. Alan really knows how to capture personality and happiness in a photo and we're truly sad we cannot do the day all over again with him!

What can I say, out of all the photographers we met with, Alan was by far the best in all of our considerations (e.g. personality, picture style, budget, value etc) - he ticked every box. My husband and I got on with him instantly, found him very friendly and easy to work with.
